The Board of Directors of the Vacation Rental Industry Association are elected from the membership according to voting priviledges. Leaders determine policies and procedures of the group, recruit and select the staff and oversee services offered. Generally questions should be directed to the staff, but you are welcome to email Board members who may respond or ask staff to do so.

Jim Shinn began his career at an early age, running as a bait boy on his father's ocean going salman charter boat. Energetic bait boys make good tips. Lazy one's don't. No one has accused Jim of being lazy since.
After school Jim mastered a number of disciplines including stints on boats in Alaska perilous and ferocious Bearing Sea. A close call, caused him to question his love of the sea so he took the kind of discipline necessary to thrive in the fishing industry and directed to real estate development and investment. Since then, he has mastered the art of raw land development, building and construction.
Jim's approach to business and decision making are forceful and well spoken. His opinion is in demand from other business owners who need strong well grounded advice.
